All assessments:

Result in the publication of a personalised and detailed written report.

Follow guidelines set by the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC).

Cross-reference up-to-date eligibility criteria set by JCQ for exam access arrangements, as appropriate.

May be used to support future applications for Disabled Students’ Allowance, as appropriate.

Contain sections on underlying ability, cognitive processing (eg. working memory, phonological awareness, processing speed) and attainment in literacy and/or maths.

Reference ‘standard scores’ in a detailed score table, meaning the student’s performance can be compared to other students who are exactly the same age.

Signpost the student, school and family to relevant support recommendations.

Can be conducted in one session with multiple breaks, or conducted over two consecutive assessment mornings. This is advised for the longer assessments or to support students who find it hard to maintain attention.
